Gutters & Drainage

Gutters are a sizing problem, not a shopping problem. We calculate the water your roof actually sheds, then move it away from the building.

Sized to the roof, not the catalogue

Most overflowing gutters are not clogged, they are too small. A five-inch trough with a single two-by-three downspout cannot carry what a large Portland roof sheds in a January downpour, and the water ends up at the base of the wall.

We start from measured contributing area and rainfall intensity, then specify trough size, outlet count, and downspout size to match. Six-inch seamless with three-by-four leaders is common here, and it is the difference between a dry basement and a recurring claim.

Where the water goes

Discharging at the foundation simply moves the problem underground. Wherever the site allows, we bury leaders and route them well clear of the building, then sketch the drainage layout so future work does not cut through it.

What is done

  • On-site roll-formed seamless gutter

  • Hidden hangers at 24 inch centres

  • Oversized 3x4 downspouts

  • Buried leaders where required

  • Leaf protection

  • Drainage plan sketch

Not included

  • Foundation waterproofing or excavation beyond leader trenching

  • Fascia replacement beyond the assessed area

  • Storm drain connection permits

  • Roof covering repairs

How we work

Four stages, and you know what happens in each one.

01

Roof area & rainfall calculation

We measure contributing roof area per elevation and size the trough and downspouts to local rainfall intensity rather than to whatever was there before.

02

Fascia & edge condition check

Rotten fascia, missing drip edge, and undersized outlets are identified up front, because hanging new gutter on failing wood buys you nothing.

03

On-site roll-forming

Seamless trough is formed on site to the exact length of each run, then hung on hidden hangers at 24-inch centres with a consistent fall.

04

Leaders & discharge

Downspouts are oversized, and leaders are buried and routed to daylight or to a drywell so water leaves the foundation zone entirely.
